Outdoor Education for Schools - D of E

Bryn-y-Mor can facilitate Duke of Edinburgh expeditions for bronze, sliver and gold. We are experienced in supervising and training for expeditions on foot and by kayak.

Upon training we look at planning routes, packing, group safety, navigation, campcraft and expedition skills to ensure the participants are well prepared for assessment. We can also offer professional advice on route choice for all groups, using are detailed local knowledge of the area.

Most groups choose to undertake the expeditions on foot using the varied mountainous terrain in or around Snowdonia. We often use the Clwyd mountain range for Bronze and the hills and valleys from Ogwen valley down to Beddgelert for Silver and Gold. Another option is to use sea kayaks and explore the coastline of North Wales. For this option the participants either have prior kayaking experience or partake on our special kayak training days.

We can also provide experienced instructors to work alongside qualified staff from within your school or youth group to keep the ratios at a safe and manageable number.
