Frequently Asked Questions

How much are private activity courses?
In general the larger your group the cheaper the price. At a ratio of 1 instructor to 2 clients the cost is £80 per person per day, where as at 1 to 5 the cost reduces to £40 per person per day. We can cater for group sizes of 60+ depending on the choice of activities. For more deatil please see course prices.

What dates can I book on?
If given sufficient notice, a course can be booked on any date that suits. We are very flexible, please use the Contact page to enquire. Last minute bookings can often be accommodated too.

What is included in the price?
A days personalised instruction or guiding in your chosen activities and all the necessary kit to make it possible.

What is excluded from the price?
You are required to provide your own transport, unless special arrangements have been made, and accommodation. However we are able to recommend and help you find suitable places to stay in the area, please see accommodation for more details.

What else do I need to bring along for the day?
You need food and drink for the day. With all land based activities you will need warm clothing, such as a fleece jacket, full water proofs and a rucksack to carry it in. Appropriate footwear is needed too, being walking boots /sturdy shoes if on land or old trainers / wet suit boots for wet activities. Please don't worry if you are missing any item as we can often provide extra kit.

What time and where do you meet?
A typical day starts at 9:15am and finishes at 5pm. The meeting point is chosen to be convenient for yourself. If possible this will be at your chosen accommodation or conveniently on route to the activity venue.

I'm a little bit unsure, is it all safe?
Although its is impossible to completely eliminate risk, through our experience and keeping to national guidelines we keep this risk to a minimum. All our instructors are fully qualified and insured in their area of work, please see AMI or BCU for more information on outdoor qualifications.

What happens if there is bad weather?
We are fortunate in North Wales in that we have many different venue options for each activity. Often we can find a sheltered or even dry venue for a given activity when other parts of the park may be wet and wild. We also have the option of providing you with an alternative activity that wouldn't be affected by the bad weather.

Do I need personal insurance?
It is recommended that you take out your own personal insurance, as with any sporting activity, while on a course. Please see Snowcard or British Mountaineering Council for possible policies.

How do I book a course?
To book any course please contact Gareth Davies or James Stevenson by phone, e-mail or the online form. For details please see the contact page. I will require the dates you wish to book for, the number in your group and if appropriate any experience you may of had.
